Are you creative and do you have a passion for form and style?
With graphic design and photography you try to tell people something with images, text or a combination of both. If you look around you, you will see that many things are designed. You can learn that too!
You create a basic plan using graphic techniques, photographing with your phone, but also sketching, cutting and pasting. We work on this further on the computer in Adobe programs such as Photoshop and Indesign. This way you can design a t-shirt, a poster or your own (magazine)zine. Between lessons you will be given home assignments that you will compile in a sketchbook.
For whom?
Anyone from 14 to 24 years old who is interested in and wants to be creative. You don't need to have experience or be able to draw well. You must be motivated to also do home assignments. We work in a group, but there is a lot of attention for individual input and feedback.
The following skills are covered in this course:
Reflect and argue why you tell something, how you do it and to whom
Learning to do research to arrive at a design: through sketches, thumbnails and the use of graphic techniques and materials
Experimenting with elements such as shape, color, material, text, scale and composition
Creating a (magazine) shelf, mood board and color palette
Using mobile phone or digital camera to take specific image for your design
Develop your design in AdobePhotoshop and Indesign
