Basic goldsmithing course (18+)

In this basic goldsmithing course you will work with different types of metal such as alpaca, brass, copper and silver and you will learn the basic techniques of gold and silversmithing. Among other things, the following techniques are discussed: sawing, filing, drilling, soft and hard soldering, setting stones and casting silver. Learning the individual techniques is linked to a number of processing assignments such as the design and manufacture of brooches, bracelets, necklaces and rings. The assignments are progressive in terms of difficulty, both in terms of technique and design. At the end of this basic course you have mastered the techniques and shaping in such a way that you can move on to the advanced goldsmithing course.

Advanced course in goldsmithing (18+)

This course is a continuation of the basic goldsmithing course. But anyone who has gained knowledge elsewhere in the processing of metals is also welcome. The basic techniques of goldsmithing are now supplemented by, among other things: etching, driving, chiseling and enamelling. Opportunities in this course are the free design and manufacture of various jewelery in base and precious metals and the realization of smaller utensils such as vases, chalices, oil lamps, singing bowls or salad servers. The individual guidance of the student is central to this and aims to solve technical and form-aesthetic issues. Moreover, it is possible to design contemporary jewellery, which can also be detached from classic materials and traditional techniques.
