Teacher Natascha Rieter gives various courses on ceramic design.
We work with manual shaping and rotating objects on a turntable. She teaches you construction techniques, modelling, hollowing out, enlarging a small design and working in relief. With both techniques you will receive an explanation about surface treatment, decoration techniques with engobes and glazes. Its diverse range of courses makes it possible to choose from almost all ceramic techniques.

Natascha Rieter has extensive knowledge in the field of ceramic design.
She transfers these to beginning students in predetermined lessons. There is of course plenty of room for your own input and personal development. With advanced students, there is even more attention for the professionalization of the student's own choices.
Advanced courses require prior knowledge of the firing process and the technical skills required for this.

Course prices do not include clay and firing/glazing costs.

The Raku firing and Pitfire/smoking techniques courses start after the May holidays on Monday and Tuesday evening.

For these courses it is important that you have some experience with building and running.

These are therefore not suitable for students who have no experience with clay.

This course consists of 4 lessons.

Lessons 5 and 6: Surface machining

Lesson 7: Building and lighting the pitfire oven at my home, as well as lighting the sawdust fire.

Lesson 8: View the result, clean workpieces and, if necessary, treat them with wax.

Introductory course for beginners

Wednesday evening 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

7 weeks of spinning on the turntable. (May 7-June 18)

This course is a kind of test to see whether you enjoy working on the turntable. You will also work on a suitable basis for the beginners course in September 2025.

Costs: € 175 (Excluding firing and glazing costs)

If the introductory course for beginners is fully booked, a second one will be started on Thursday evening.
