Free Graphics & Linocut

In this linocut course you will learn to create a design and put the design on the lino. Then you will cut into the linoleum with the gouges and make beautiful prints of your work with ink and rollers. After the first few weeks, you will learn how to make prints with more blocks and the elimination/reduction technique will be covered. Making prints on fabric is also an option. In the last weeks you can combine monoprint techniques with linocuts.
Printing can be done by hand, also the two available etching presses can be used.
Inspiration comes from printing and techniques from the art world. On the basis of assignments and with explanation from the teacher, you will work on developing your own style. By working in a group you will learn from others and inspire each other. The emphasis of this course is on learning, experimenting and having fun making your prints!
The course is suitable for beginners and advanced students: We work in a group but the guidance is individual.

Excl. Material costs such as lino, printing inks, rollers, palette knife, gouges, paper, sketchbook, design materials. These costs may vary according to your own wishes.
The first lesson materials are provided after that the students work with their own materials.
