Are you creative and have a passion for form and style?
With graphic design and photography, you try to tell people something with images, text or a combination of both. When you look around, you see that many things are designed. You can learn that too!

Using graphic techniques, photographing with your phone, as well as sketching, cutting and pasting, you will create a basic plan. We work this out further on the computer in Adobe programs such as Photoshop and Indesign. So you design a t-shirt, a poster or your own (maga)zine. Between classes, you will be given home assignments that you will compile into a sketchbook.

For whom.
Anyone aged 14 to 24 who has an interest and desire to be creative. You don’t have to have experience or be good at drawing. You do need to be motivated to do home assignments as well. We work in a group, but there is plenty of opportunity for individual input and feedback.

The following skills are covered in this course:
Reflecting and arguing why you tell something, how you do it and to whom
Learning to do research to arrive at a design: using. sketches, thumbnails and using graphic techniques and materials
Experimenting with elements such as shape, color, material, text, scale and composition
Creating a (magazine) board, mood board and color palette
Using cell phone or digital camera to create specific images for your design
Working out your design in AdobePhotoshop and Indesign
